As a Principal Psychologist, I have substantial experience of providing highly specialised and evidence-based therapies, tailored to suit clients across a range of emotional difficulties and complexity. I am passionate about the work I do, and I have always felt it to be a privilege to be entrusted in sitting alongside my client’s vulnerability in their treatment journey. My approach centers on creating a secure and trusting environment where I listen with compassion, curiosity, and a keen sensitivity to individual client needs.
I offer a range of therapeutic models including, CBT, “Enhanced” CBT, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I firmly believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to the success of any therapy, and I am dedicated to being attentive and respectful in this regard.
With over fourteen years of experience in specialist Eating Disorder Services, I have served as the Principal Psychologist for one of the UK's largest NHS specialist eating disorder services for the past four years. My professional journey has encompassed a broad spectrum of clinical settings, including primary care, probation services, and educational environments.
My training and experience equip me to work with many complex emotional difficulties, including the full complexity and diagnosis of eating disorders, body image difficulties, relationship difficulties, grief, stress, depression, anxiety disorders and low self-esteem.
In addition to providing one-to-one therapy, I offer expert professional supervision to trainees, newly qualified therapists, and seasoned practitioners. Moreover, I conduct training sessions for professionals seeking to enhance their competence and confidence in treating eating disorders and body image issues.
I have presented papers and facilitated workshops at international eating disorder conferences, and I have provided specialist teaching on doctoral training programmes.
Both as a therapist and in my consultancy work, I am deeply committed to early intervention and evidence-based treatments. My approach is grounded in national guidelines for the treatment of psychological disorders and is continuously informed by the latest research.
